Falstaff_tatiHelene_3Dramatic Soprano takes part in the cast of the new Theatro São Pedro’s production

Acclaimed by critics and audiences for her performance in ” Die fliegende Holländer ” of R.Wagner , in the role of ” Senta” at the Opera Festival of da Paz Theater in Belém , Tati Helene affirms herself as one of the great Wagnerian voices of her generation. Armed with solid vocal technique and dramatic skills, the soprano has played dramatic repertoire major roles as “Salome” in Brazil and Switzerland (in a Europe tour) ,  and now is back to Brazil to play ” Alice Ford ” in ” Falstaff ” by Giuseppe Verdi in new production Theatro São Pedro in Sao Paulo . In his last opera , Falstaff , Verdi puts the drama in first place; the opera contains few divisions in musical numbers such as arias , and the focus of the scenes is the team work of all the characters, culminating in the famous final escape where all ten characters plus the chorus sing at the same time. Tati says that she is very happy with the opportunity to play a comic character. ” I have a wonderful vocal comfort to play this part . I think it’s cool to do comedy. Interestingly , in this opera Verdi uses the resources of the dramatic voice to do comedy . He puts a heavier voice into a comic character , taking advantage of voice’s resources to clown the scene , which ends up getting funnier and attracting more audiences , “says the soprano .
