Vereda, from the masculine Veredus, means, in Latin, a post horse: the horse that allowed messengers to take and bring letters and warnings. The narrow path used by these horses came to be called, also, Veredus. And later on, the landscape cut by the paths became known as Vereda; means path, heading, or shortcut path that reduces travel time. When the bandeirantes entered Brazil, they used the paths for their journeys, as they had clean water and open vegetation for locomotion, at the vereda/local vegetation limit.

João Guimarães Rosa described paths as: “They are valleys with clay or turbo-clay soil, where the absorbed water comes out. In the paths, there is always the buriti. From a distance, we see the buritis, and already know: there is water. The footpath is an oasis. In relation to the plateaus, they are, the paths, of a beautiful light green, pleasant, soft. The grass is light green, good. The paths are fertile. Full of animals, birds. "

The Duo Veredas formed by soprano Tati Helene and pianist Rodolfo Jonasson, was formed in 2004, with the encouragement of the great musician Marilia Pini, with the purpose of promoting Brazilian classical music.

They had an intense activity until 2007, performing in Latin America and Brazil, with emphasis on the presentation at Teatro Solis in Montevideo in 2006 and for the masterclasses given at the University of La República Uruguay in the city of Salto, with a theme on classical Brazilian music and technique of singing applied to singing in Portuguese. With the soprano's return to Brazil after a few years in Europe in 2015, the Duo met again and start over their activities.

In 2016 the concert "4" is being developed, which brings together four pieces by iconic composers of Brazilian classical music.
