Helene sings Strauss in Brasília
On July Helene sings with the Orquestra Sinfônica do Teatro Nacional Cláudio Santoro the “4 last songs” by R. Strauss under the direction of Maestro Claudio Cohen. The concert celebrates the 150th anniversary of the composer’s birth and the soprano asserts herself, once again, as one of the few Brazilian singers specialized on his work. In addition to the pieces of Strauss, the concert features the soloists Vedrana Simic, Janette Dornellas, Marcelo Ferreira, Jean Nardoto and Angela Diel singing famous arias from others composers.The concert is part of the Opera Festival of Brasilia, created by maestro Claudio Cohen, this year’s Festival is in its fourth edition and even unable to produce complete operas due to reform the National Theatre, the festival maintains its diverse programming at Pedro Calmon Theatre located in the Urban Military Sector of the Federal Capital, which began last June featuring the opera Tosca and will run until the beginning of August with performances of the opera A Cartomante, by the Brazilian composer Jorge Antunes, both in concert form.
